Mettre en place les fondations d'un outil de restitution à large audience : VESPACE

Abstract : VESPACE is a project that aims to create a complete reconstruction of theatrical practice in the Saint-Germain Fair during the 18th century in Paris. Archaeological remains of the places and theaters were lost following the destructions of the Fair, this project intends to conceive a set of tools enabling the reconstruction of lost spaces while complying with historical and scientific criteria, to experience this multi-sensorial and social space through interactions between avatars and their environment (be it architecture, AI-based characters or human-driven avatars) while ensuring access to sources in immersive virtual reality. While history scholars (in architecture, art or theater) is the main public, VESPACE aims to create a pedagogical tool for students in history or French culture and language, and a professional/industrial tool by enabling simulations regarding acoustics or lightning. This poster proposal is setting the hypothesis and technical or scientific challenges that define this wide public reconstruction tool.
