Construction of meaning and teacher control of learning

Résumé

I will here focus on students construction of meaning and teacher control of learning in computer-based learning environments. Because of an unvoidable computational transposition of knowledge, these environments are likely to raise new problems for the learning of mathematics which go together with the powerness of the means they provide to do and experience mathematics. I will then present some analysis of the task of teachers in a distance tutoring environments, and discuss the new complexity of their task in making sense of students learning. The content of this paper is based on the results of the project TéléCabri.
