Étude de la pénétration des anglicismes de type N ou ADJ(-)Ving à partir d’un corpus contemporain journalistique : les exemples de bashing et shaming en français contemporain
Abstract
In this article, we will detail the diachronic evolution of linguistic and sociolinguistic properties of English borrowings pertaining to the pattern Noun or Adj - Verb(ing) in Contemporary French, especially focusing on shaming and bashing, currently very productive. We will build our analysis upon contemporary press monitor corpora available in the Internet and also upon exploratory and visual analysis tools, especially Néoveille (Cartier, 2016). Our goal is threefold : first, to propose a methodology to analyse and describe neologisms in a corpus-based analysis framework, exposing the diachrony of the linguistic and sociolinguistic properties of neologisms; second, to ground these description on monitor corpora and on Search and Analysis Tool permiting to track the evolution of textual data; third, to apply this methodology to better understand the dissemination of the -shaming and -bashing based borrowings in French. We will show that several elements permit to conclude that a new morphological composition pattern is under expansion in French that is fully borrowed from English.
