Aldol condensation reaction will probably become a key reaction to obtain longer alkanes in the development of bioraffineries[1,2]. It would be an important breakthrough to develop solid basic catalysts capable to promote aldol condensation in the presence of water. In this paper, we have prepared the rare earth elements modified MgAl Hydrotalcite and investigate the model reaction(acetone aldolization reaction) in the presence of water.
