The invention relates to a power divider/combiner having a high transmission coefficient over an extended frequency band. The invention also relates to a method including the following steps, comprising: E1: defining an initial topological space and a position of M inputs and N outputs on a contour of said space, the initial topological space being defined by an initial shape and the electrical, insulating, or conductive characteristic thereof; E2: initializing the method: E24: creating a network within the initial topological space to break down the initial topological space into a set of basic spaces; E25: defining a cost criterion to be optimized, the cost criterion defining at least one desired intrinsic characteristic for the divider/combiner; and E3: producing a final topological space forming a divider/combiner body while optimizing the cost criterion through a topological gradient method.
