Drylands irrigation in a wetlands area
Résumé
Water management techniques must not be systematically interpreted as a response to ecological conditions. The present case study shows a water management system similar to that observed in arid areas, but is located in an area exposed to monsoon influence. The study demonstrates that the presence of such a system in this region can be understood, on the one hand, by technology transfer, but on the other hand its presence can be explained through the social efficiency of the system itself.
