On the linear Boltzmann equation for granular gases
Résumé
We present and briey comment in this paper the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium solution of a linear Boltzmann equation describing dissipative interactions with the background. For a general collision kernel, it is shown that, provided the initial density has nite temperature, the equilibrium solution is given by a Maxwellian prole with a universal temperature which is lower than the corresponding of the background.
