A Particle Strategy for Solving the Fokker-Planck Equation Governing the Fiber Orientation Distribution in Steady Recirculating Flows Involving Short Fiber Suspensions

Résumé

In this work we have analyzed the application of a deterministic approximation of the diffusion term in the Fokker-Planck equation using smooth particles for computing its steady solution in a steady recirculating flow. The main idea of this approach lies in the introduction of the Fokker-Planck diffusion term into the advection one, which allows to proceed in a Lagrangian deterministic manner without a mesh support requirement.
