Models for the control of the test and of the reconfiguration of a computer

Abstract

The aim the author is working toward in this project is the telereconfiguration of a computer from another one, in order to minimize the number of human operations due to the electronic failures. It is supposed that initially the computer to be reconfigured has not massive redundancy (initial massive redundancy would be a supplementary advantage). The considered reconfiguration consists in altering the microprogramming of the computer to be reconfigured, so that the appearance of the failures would be transparent at the instruction level, i.e. at the macromachine level: if a hardware element has failed, the functions of this element will be simulated by microprogramming, utilizing the other good working elements.
