Separation and characterization of phases in bond percolation and implications for studies of nuclear multifragmentation

Résumé

We demonstrate that, in bond percolation of a small system, two phases can be visually identified by displaying the probability distribution of the ejected mass as a function of the number of broken bonds. The phases can be separated using the ratio of the masses of the second largest and largest fragments. The nature of the transition and application to studies of nuclear multifragmentation are discussed. (APS)
