Modélisation de la fissuration dans les matériaux bois par la méthode des champs de phase : simulation numérique d'un essai de compression sur des échantillons en bois d'épicéa

Abstract : Prediction of failure mechanisms in wood assemblies represents an important challenge and goal for the furniture industry. As part of a collaboration between MSME laboratory and FCBA Technological Institute, a mode of degradation by cracking has been identified during standard furniture validation tests. A series of compression tests using an embedded nut was carried out on spruce wood specimens in order to measure the critical failure force and to predict the strength of a connection between furniture elements [1]. The purpose of this work is to implement the phase field method by developing a model dedicated to transverse isotropic materials in order to numerically simulate the cracking failure of spruce wood samples observed during experimental compression tests.
