Photo-and radio-darkening in rare-earth-doped silica-based optical fibers (Invited Seminar)

Résumé

The Specialty Optical Fibres Group at INPHYNI has a long tradition of designing, fabricating and characterizing of rare-earth-doped silica-based optical fibres. In this talk, I will review our research activities. Then I will focus on recent studies on rare-earth-doped optical fibres under various laser pumping and/or ionizing radiation conditions. We characterize the photo-and/or radio-darkening phenomena happening through processes depending on fiber composition and experimental conditions.
