An IoT-based system to enforce COVID-19 health regulations dedicated to student traffic control in higher education areas

Résumé

This paper presents an IoT solution to monitor the attendance of students in courses and to check if they respect health regulation provided by local authorities following COVID sanitary crisis. An Arduino MKRWAN1300 embedding a LoRa module is associated with sensors on a PCB designed on PROTEUS software and packaged with laser cutting machine. It implements a dedicated program to customize LoRa frames to meet the requirements of the application. We have made the demonstration of detecting if students were entering and/or exiting a lecture hall and of counting them to check if they were using the proper doors according to the one-direction traffic imposed by local regulations.
