Réévaluation du potentiel archéologique du Bois de la Garenne à Cagny (Somme, France),

Abstract : The palaeolithic site of the Bois de Cagny-La-Garenne, classified as a Historic Monument, has been the subject of a survey campaign intended to map the Pleistocene alluvial and loessic sediments and to reassess the archaeological potential of the site. The Bois de La Garenne was exploited as a quarry for much of the 20th century and has been the subject of several archaeological interventions. Methodologically, the location of the surveys was strongly conditioned by the documents resulting from the LiDAR campaign carried out by the company Drones Imaging in 2018, on which many microreliefs were discernible. To the west, most of the Bois de La Garenne has been exploited. On the other hand, in the east, four sensitive areas for archeology have been identified.
