La prensa, verdadera vocación de tres eclesiásticos a finales del Antiguo Régimen

The press of the Enlightment raised strong passions among the Spanish ecclesiastics. To the point that many times they were not satisfied with being mere readers and did not doubt in putting their pen into this new media. This article examines the journalistic task of three of them who had a point in common: the fact of having frictions with the Inquisition : José María Beristain, Juan Antonio Olavarrieta (Clararrosa), and Luis Gutiérrez.
La prensa de la Ilustración suscitó no pocas pasiones entre los eclesiásticos españoles que muchas veces no se contentaron con ser meros lectores y no dudaron en poner su pluma al servicio de ese nuevo medio de comunicación. Este artículo examina el quehacer periodístico de tres de ellos que tienen en común el haber tenido algún que otro roce con la Inquisición : Jose María Beristain, Juan Antonio Olavarrieta (Clararrosa), Luis Gutierrez.
