Problems and perspectives in the cataloguing and digitization of manuscript libraries in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry : a study
Résumé
This research paper is a field study based on collected data by researcher extracted from the respective librarians/curators through structured questionnaire, official records and observation. The scope of this research paper is limited to five libraries as selected four libraries in Tamil Nadu and one from Puducherry. Samples are selected with a mixture of periods established from 16th century to 20th century, administered by mutts, private research institution and governmental. Overall a total number of 145159 manuscripts are found in different languages and scripts.
