Compte-rendu de pièce : A Shakespearean odyssey in Montpellier
Résumé
To celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 orchestrated a 24-hour Shakespearean show at the university theatre (La Vignette), which was followed by a 14-hour version entitled After Shakespeare, that was performed during the popular Printemps des Comédiens Montpellier festival. At the crossroads of theory and practice, and of various disciplines, this collaborative enterprise federated research centres and departments, as well as education and cultural partners. Both experimental marathon performances, directed by Laurent Berger, were the culmination of a large-scale, year-long project which challenged conventional pedagogic practices.
