CONCLUSION During recovery processes, sponges utilize diverse and complex morphogenetic mechanisms, with a particular importance of cell transdifferentiation. While all sponges demonstrate high recovery abilities, the morphogeneses and cell sources for the recovery of lost structures varies in different clades.
