Le discours de la promesse chez les promoteurs de l'ingénierie climatique.

Abstract : This article analyses the main promises made by climate engineering proponents. First, the author discusses promises made about geoengineering projects, which are designed to alter the global climate swiftly: the ability to reduce uncertainties enough to ensure a less insecure world; the allegedly temporary character of geoengineering technologies. Then, the author depicts a situation where local negative emission technologies (NETs) such as BECCS (bioenergy with carbon capture and storage) gain ground in the climate arenas and on the entrepreneurial landscape; yet these technologies are still in search of a model that would be economically and ecologically viable.
