Simulation of Discontinuous Waves with Velocity Non-Equilibrium Two-Phase Flow
Résumé
Non-equilibrium two-phase flows have attracted much attention in recent years
by different mathematical models. We report herein a numerical investigation of an un-
steady, one-dimensional and compressible two-phase flow model based on mixture formu-
lations. A mixture based model in a complete non-equilibrium behaviour is employed
for simulations. The simulations are performed using finite volume Godunov methods in
the framework of Riemann problems. Simulations also are performed for discontinuous
waves of two-phase mixture flows. Both the mixture model and numerical methods are
validated through separate two-phase benchmark problems. Results demonstrate the ca-
pability of the model in hand to predict shocks and rarefaction waves in terms of mixture
and separate phase flow variables.
