Burnout en contexte professionnel soignant : la valorisation sociale des explications causales en termes d'effort
Résumé
This study tests the hypothesis of a social valorization of internal and controllable explanations, relative to effort, of burnout in nursing context. According to the judge paradigm, 50 nurses assessed a nurse-target on the basis of her explanations varying according to four experimental conditions. The results indicated 1) more favorable judgments in terms of social utilities, for the explanatory profile “effort” than for the three others profiles : “traits”, “role of others” or “coincidence”, 2) whatever the nurse explained a feeling of success (personal accomplishment) or of failure (exhaustion or depersonalization), 3) this judgment being more expressed by managers than by subordinates. These results are discussed within the framework of primary prevention of psychosocial risks in organizational setting.
