Advances in Bio-Nanohybrid Materials

Résumé

This chapter presents an overview on the recent advances in research and development on bio-nanohybrid materials and focuses on the clays and polyphenols hybrids. Indeed, plant polyphenols have received a great deal of attention, in recent years, due to their diverse biological functions and their antioxidative, nutraceutical and dyeing properties. This chapter covers recent development and key challenges in the use of this kind of bio-nanohybrids and presents their preparation and properties. Their related applications in novel specific fields such as active packaging, functional coating, heavy metal removal and controlled delivery system are considered. It is also an opportunity to discuss challenges and future perspectives of polyphenols-based hybrids for diverse applications
