Innovative Synthesis of Reflectarrays within the Non-Radiating Inverse Source Framework
Résumé
This work presents a new methodology for the design of reflectarray surface currents satisfying both radiation and user-defined/application-driven geometry constraints. Towards this end, the synthesis process is formulated as an inverse source (IS) problem exploiting the non-radiating (NR) component of the surface currents as an additional degree of freedom (DoF) in order to take advantage of the non-uniqueness of the solution. As a consequence, the desired currents are obtained in closed-form and without requiring the use of computationally-expensive iterative optimization algorithms. A preliminary numerical experiment is shown in order to assess the potentialities of the proposed design methodology.
