« Tskhaltoubo ou la nostalgie de l’absence »
Résumé
With the great chain of the Caucasus in the background, its beautiful park, and majestic but abandoned soviet "sanatoriums", the spa town of Tskhaltoubo, in Eastern Georgia, presents a striking view. But landscape is not so much what we see, but a way of seeing, it is a source of reminiscence or oblivion. The scenery offered by Tskhaltoubo is composed of several strata of memories, each of which is linked with specific ideological and political setting: the imperial memory, the memory of Soviet times, and finally, the post-Soviet decadence.
