Rawls's “original position” is not sufficient to specify the rules of cooperation.
Résumé
In his landmark work, justice as fairness, John Rawls conjectured that the concept of original position and veil of ignorance will specify the terms of cooperation the individuals forming a society would agree to. We show here that this concept does not carry enough constraints and therefore is not sucient to reach such an agreement.
