Composition musicale et chamanisme

Abstract : Noting the therapeutic impact of traditional music that hybridizes to contemporary creations in a context of globalization, this article provides some analyzes of musical works clearly related to shamanism. Not only the therapeutic works, but also the primitivist roots, the broad concepts of trance and psychedelia, and the current excesses of "sound art" in the face of New Agism and neo-shamanism are questioned. The main musicians studied are Alain Berlaud, Marie-Hélène Bernard, John Burke, Tan Dun, Zarina Kopyrina, György Ligeti, Francisco López, Sainkho Namtchylak , Thierry Pécou, Gaëtan Perseilhan, Jacques Schwartz-Bart, Corine Sombrun, Barry Truax, Sigolene Valax, Claude Vivier.
