Comparison of hybrid adaptive blind equalizers for QAM signals

Résumé

In this paper we propose a new hybrid blind equalization algorithm for QAM signals. Like modified constant modulus algorithms (MCMA), it adds to the standard constant modulus algorithm (CMA) criterion a new penalty term that constraints the equalizer output to fit constellation points. Simulations performed for different channels and signal to noise ratio (SNR) values, show that this equalizer outperforms the standard CMA as well as hybrid equalizers with cosine and exponential matching functions.
