Elaboration of phosphor particles with spherical shape and micronic size

Résumé

Red phosphor (Y2O3:Eu) and green phosphor (Zn2SiO4:Mn) powders with a spherical shape and an average diameter of Dv50 = 3.2 +/-0.2 mum have been prepared by the technique of spray-pyrolysis and optimal post-synthetic heat treatments. The photo-luminescence of these powders under excitation in the UV-VUV are measured and compared with those of commercial phosphors used in plasma display panels. Additional characterizations are presented.
