La figure mariale chez Dante
Résumé
On the occasion of the publication of a monograph on the figure of Mary in Dante’s Divine Comedy (2016), its author explains the challenges raised by this theme and the insights that the book contributes to criticism on this topic. Using the old dichotomy between poetry and theology inherited from Romantic Italian criticism as its point of departure, the article looks at the small number of comprehensive studies published since the 1950s, broken down according to a methodology that aims to avoid the pitfalls of dualism.
