Elemental Speciation and Coupled Techniques

Résumé

Multicapillary column gas chromatography (MC GC) - microwave induced plasma atomic emission spectrometry (MIP AES) is proposed as a tool for the rapid speciation analysis of traces of organomercury, organolead and organotin compounds in environmental matrices. Separations on a multicapillary column are ca 10 times faster than those on conventional capillaries without sacrificing resolution nor sample load. Examples of chromatograms for speciation of organolead in dust, organomercury in sediment and organotin in sediment and mussel tissue are shown. An analytical method is developed and validated with certified reference materials for the determination of butyltin compounds in sediment and biomaterials.
