Corpus et langue arabe : un changement de paradigme

Abstract : We examine the relationship between Arabic grammar and the corpora to explain the increasing importance of corpora in Arabic linguistics. The transmission of knowledge, from the original corpus (Koran, archaic poetry) on which the Arabic grammatical tradition was based led to a long period of stagnation of grammar. With numerical tools and the development of vast corpora of modern or contemporary Arabic, we are now witnessing an epistemological upheaval that has consequences on the transmission of linguistic knowledge and leads us to think about how to analyse the data inherited from the ancestral grammatical tradition and how to constitute a grammar of Arabic which describes the reality of the uses of language in a more accurate way.
