Práticas transnacionais em um entreposto comercial da " Rota da Seda "

Yiwu (China) is one of the biggest wholesale markets in the world. Both an industrial district and a cosmopolitan urban neighborhood, this city of the Zhejiang province, South of Shangai, three hours of train away from it, has positioned itself since the 2000s as one of the major starting places for the “new silk roads”, supplying in small commodities a vast part of the world’s market. This article aims at better understanding how, from these routes, trading places have been created in Algeria and Egypt with a national influence and international connections, and how a transnational trading post is built up, where the presence of Arab entrepreneurs, restaurant owners, translators, purchasers or migrants is set to become a permanent feature. It is an inconspicuous globalization that is shaping up, anchoring North Africa into the global networks of transnational exchanges.

Yiwu é um dos mais importantes mercados atacadistas do mundo. Ao mesmo tempo um distrito industrial e um bairro urbano cosmopolita. Esta ci-dade da província de Zhejiang, três horas distante de trem de Shangai, se con-solidou depois dos anos 2000 como uma das principais praças de saída para as " novas rotas da seda " fornecedoras de small commodities para grande parte do mercado mundial. Este artigo tem como objetivo compreender melhor como a partir destas rotas foi possível se estabelecer na Argélia e no Egito mercados com influência nacional e com conexões internacionais, e como se consolidam estes entrepostos transnacionais e a presença desses comerciantes, donos de restaurantes, tradutores, compradores e migrantes árabes. Esta é uma mundia-lização informal, porém poderosa, que se desenha e insere a África do Norte nas redes globais do comércio transnacional.
