Antenna array receiver for television by satellite
Résumé
Parabolic antennas are generally used to receive the television channels transmitted
by geostationary satellites. The carrier frequency is between 10.7 and 12.7 GHz for Ku transmit-
ters. The gain of the receiver antenna depends on its geographical position and the position of
targeted satellite. It is commonly between 25 and 35 dBi corresponding to an antenna diameter
of about 30 to 100 cm. A Low Noise Block is placed at the focus of the parabola. The
antenna must be mechanically oriented towards the satellite.
Our research objective is to realize a plate antenna with the possibility of signal receiving without
mechanical orientation. This may be done using antenna arrays.
