Benchmarks for numerical and experimental studies of built-up structures vibrations

Résumé

This talk will deal with a proposition of benchmark. Two different structures will be proposed for both experimental and numerical benchmarks. These benchmarks will allow the “jointed-structure” community to compare tools and methods that come from all teams and laboratories that will participate. The talk aims to open a discussion on the geometry, joints type, materials, boundary conditions, and experimental setup. To achieve this goal, a first version of the benchmark will be presented as well as simulation results. The structure is inspired from a Cubesat. A CubeSat is a type of miniaturized satellite for space research and typically uses commercial off-the-shelf components for its electronics. Such kind of structure contains a lot of joints between mechanical, electronical and optical parts. Moreover it is subjected to vibration requirements that will define the inputs and criteria of the simulations and experiments. The second proposed structure is inspired from aeronautic truss structure.
