Abstract : This article deals with Hungary's foreign policy in August 1920 – November 1921 and orientation towards Czechoslovakia. It argues that during this period, Budapest strove for diplomatic rapprochement with Prague despite their contradictions. The milestones of this appeasement policy were: the Czechoslovak-Hungarian de facto mutual recognition (August 1920); the following ratification of the Trianon Peace Treaty by both parliaments (November 1920 and February 1921); and, finally, three personal meetings between the two foreign ministers (March, June and September 1921).
