Abstract : A research project conducted in France analyzes the role of information practices in sustainability management. Facing a strong social issue, can a professional community succeed in self-managing a sustainable and consistent information system, resisting the evolutions of economic, technical, social environments, despite the lack of external organization ? The research methodology is based on three approaches: sociological, semio-pragmatic and documentary approach. Three information systems emerge: oriented toward the actor, toward the organization, toward the activity. Activity and networks shape interactions and formats ensuring information sustainability.
