Génération de trajectoires outils à hauteur de crête constante en fraisage à 5 axes

Abstract : This paper presents a new method to compute constant scallop height tool path on sculptured surfaces with a filleted endmill in both 3 and 5 axis milling. Our approach is based on the concept of the machining surface. The machining surface is a surface modelisation of the toolpaths. The method to ensure constant scallop height consists in computing the intersection curves between the envelope surface of the tool motion with either the machining surface or the scallop height offset surface. The contribution of the method lies in the absence of approximations, in order to guarantee the tool path quality, and in its generics. An implementation of the algorithms is done on a free- form surface in both 3 and 5 axis milling.
