Abstract : This paper describes an ongoing work on the construction of a SKOS thesaurus to support multidisciplinary studies on the transmission of zoological knowledge throughout historical periods, combining the analysis of ancient literature, iconographic and archaeozoological resources. We first describe the I2AF, a national archaeozoological and archaeobotanical inventory database integrating data from archaeological excavation reports. Then we describe the TAXREF taxonomical reference designed to support studies in Conservation Biology, that was enriched with bioarchaeological taxa from I2AF. Finally we describe the TAXREF-based SKOS thesaurus under construction and its intended use within the Zoomathia research network.
