Méthodologie pour la prise en compte des sols dans les documents d’urbanisme : application à deux communes du bassin minier de Provence

Abstract : In urban areas -and their vicinity, the building craze cares very little for the other possible uses and potentialities of the plots. The UQualiSol-ZU Project aims at investigating whether and how the gathered scientific knowledge on soil quality could be included into land use planning. Its objectives are, first, to assess the expansion of urbanization in a given territory, and what planners do about soil quality, next to analyze the existing regulations to identify how such soil quality could be taken into account, and last to investigate which kind of knowledge could be used by planners. Its ultimate goal is to frame an index displaying how relevant land use is, given the multiple potentialities of the soil. We tested this pattern on two peri-urban municipalities from the region of Aix-Marseilles (Southern France).
