Fast Preparation of Peptide@MOF Library for Asymmetric Applications

Résumé

Grafting of chiral species such as amino-acids inside MOF cavities allows designing bio-functional materials and the covalent post-synthetic modification is a tool of choice to increase the sophistication degree in porous materials. We will present the synthesis and applications of amino acids-functionalized MOF following a methodology tightly integrating molecular modeling and experimental work. Solid phase peptide coupling strategy is applied in order to immobilize short peptides inside amino-functionalized MOF frameworks. A new microwave-based methodology allows reaction times shortening, from days to minutes, and higher grafting yields, up to 60% of amino groups converted. This fast and easy methods allows designing library of functional hybrid materials for high value added applications such as sensing, separation and asymmetric catalysis. Furthermore dipeptide-functionalized MOFs act as platforms for the design of chiral organometallics confined inside MOF nanospace, efficient in heterogeneous asymmetric catalysis.
