Numerical assessment of thermo-acoustic instabilities in gas turbines

Abstract : A new methodology to assess the effect of the flame/acoustics coupling on the stability of the modes without combustion is presented. An asymptotic method is used to account for the acoustic flame transfer function. The efficiency and accuracy of the approach is demonstrated on an academic case similar to a Rijke tube configuration.
