Résumé

In 1855, the French chemist Gerhardt discovered acetylsalicylic acid, from 1899 Bayer marketed under the brand name Aspirin. It is commonly accepted that Bayer will be dispossessed of his rights as a result of the Treaty of Versailles, it is not, taking advantage of the state of war some powers such as France will decide unilaterally that the name Aspirin is a generic name . Bayer will not accept this situation, which will not find its epilogue until the end of the 20th century.
