Reconfiguration of control Inputs for overactuated systems based on actuators health

Résumé

One solution to deal with actuator faults is to re-distribute the control efforts among a redundant actuator set. A new approach to manage the actuators redundancy in the presence of loss of control effectiveness is proposed in this paper. The aim is to maintain systems performance both in the nominal behavior and after faults occurrence. In degraded actuator conditions, a reconfigured control allocation strategy is proposed based on the on-line re-estimation of actuators health. Benefit of incorporating the health indicators on the controller design is to manage properly the redundant actuators taking into account the degraded performance of the actuators induced by faults. The proposed approach is illustrated with a flight control application.
