Evolution ofseasonaltemperaturedisturbancesandsolarforcingintheUS North Pacific
Résumé
We analyzethelong-termevolutionofseasonaltemperaturedisturbancesina2.52.51 area oftheUS North Pacific.LateFallandearlyWinterdisplaysignificantcorrelationoftemperaturedisturbancesand are investigatedindetail.Thelong-termevolutionoftheFalltemperaturedisturbancesfrom1945to 2008 closelyfollowsthatofsolaractivity.Therobustnessoftheseresultsissuccessfullycontrolledina 2.52.51 area immediatelynorthofthestudiedregion.Themodulationoftemperaturedisturbancesis very large(30%) comparedtothecorrespondingchangesinsolarirradiance,andhassignificant variability,evenatsmallgeographicalscale.Thephysicalmechanismofsolarforcingoftemperature disturbancesremainstobeunderstood,butarelationwithcloudinessandinfluenceoftheMadden– Julian oscillationintheNorthPacificissuggested.
