Buddhist Slabs from Nalanda

Résumé

Studies a particular type of stone carving made to be inserted within an architectural setting. The central character, the Buddha or a Bodhisattva is surrounded by a frame of architectural inspiration. The stylistic study of such slabs has allowed to attribute here a group of them to the atelier of Nalanda (9th-11th c.)
