Neutron diffraction studies of molecular systems
Résumé
The behaviour of simple molecular systems under pressure is of wide interest and considerable importance. Prior to 1990, the study of such systems under pressure was hampered by the absence of accurate structural information because neutron diffraction was generally limited to pressures below 2 GPa. As a result of technique developments, high-quality structural data can now be obtained at pressures up to 30 GPa. In this paper we will discuss and illustrate the insight into the behaviour of molecular systems that such information provides.
