Ultra-Wideband Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave Synthetic Aperture Radar for Through-The-Wall Localization

Résumé

In this paper we present the development and preliminary results of an ultra-wideband Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Through-The-Wall (TTW) radar prototype built at ONERA in Toulouse, France. The radar operates between 0.5 and 8 GHz in three possible subbands: 0.5-2 GHz, 1-4 GHz or 2-8 GHz depending on the type of wall. The radar has been suscessfully tested in free space and trials with a cinder block wall are on going.
