Macro-modeling of analog blocks for SystemC-AMS simulation: A chemical sensor case-study

Résumé

A flow for the generation of a SystemC-AMS suitable model for dynamic components is studied in this work. The target is to exploit the frequency response of the focused component in order to obtain a SystemC-AMS suitable model described by an approximation of its known transfer function. The approximation of the frequency response is performed by a fitting which provides an ordinary Laplace transfer function in the form of a partial fraction decomposition. The fitting is accurate in the bandwidth of operation of the focused device. The Laplace transfer function obtained is then treated in order to be inserted in the SystemC-AMS environment by means of a SystemC-AMS module according to the syntax form and the primitive libraries offered by the current SystemC-AMS release. This resulting model is de facto a SystemC-AMS module that uses the Synchronous Multi-Rate Data Flow Model of Computation (SDF MoC) supported by the 0.15RC5 release of SystemC-AMS. As a case of study a SystemC-AMS model of a Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) chemical sensor is obtained and simulated at behavioral level within its microelectronics frontend.
