Correlation between transport properties of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate/glass, silver-coated glass spheres composites

Résumé

Rheological, thermal and electrical behaviour of conductive and non-conductive polymeric composites were investigated in this work. The composites were prepared using Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) matrix filled with glass and silver-coated glass particles. Composites were prepared for different concentrations and for different sphere sizes (47 μm, 36 μm and 14 μm). The percolation concentration of the filler within the matrix was found to be 15-17 vol.%. We show that the filler surface is an important factor controlling the electrical, thermal and rheological properties of particle-filled polymer systems. Besides, a comparison between the thermal, the electrical and the rheological behaviours of the composites was reported in this paper; we present a correlation between these behaviours for this kind of composites.
