Les composantes de l'identité dans le web 2.0, une étude sémiotique et statistique. Hypostase de l'immédiateté

Abstract : The representation of self in the Web 2.0 is characterized by a constant structure of the representation of self and a proliferation of signs that manifest activity, producing a digital Hexis made by gestures rather than images. The interviews and participant observation in games, communication and creativity devices, helped to build a conceptual system of digital identity and selfrepresentation of the user. These results are illustrated by a first statistical analysis on Facebook. We have isolated groups named "hyper-visible" and "hidden" and distinguished 3 types of selfreprentation: a declarative one, an acting one and a calculated one. The declarative selfrepresentation is made by informations which are given by the user. The acting selfrepresentation is made by informations which are given by the System via an interpretation of the interactions made by the user whith the device. The calculated selfrepresentation is made by numbers which are calculated by the system. The declarative selfrepresentation is specific to the Web 1.0 and the acting and calculated selfrepresentation to the Web 2.0. Thus, the identity on screen, mostly static and « declarative » it was in the Web 1.0, becomes in the Web 2.0 an agregate of gesture of interacting with the system. The activities of the user contracts to its representation a virtual "existence". These changes are not only formal but involve a change in the perception of Self and its relationship to the world.
